The Calhoun SchoolLead Line Cook/Tournant Chef Position AvailableWe are looking for lead line cook/tournant level chef. This full time position is Monday thru Friday 7AM-3PM with full benefits, summer holidays/school schedule/breaks, plus full benefits.This is not your average school lunch. Our team has fine dining/Michelin experience and extensive culinary school training. We are a high volume kitchen serving breakfast and lunch for 650 students/staff! We source from the Green Market and local farms. Our menu is diverse and globally inspired. On top of that our team is fun, kind and hard working. Join us! Position SummaryJoin our team of talented chefs to execute creative and market driven menus for our school community. This position runs on an independent school schedule: mid August to early June, time off includes summer, winter and spring breaks, as well as school holidays. The schedule is Monday thru Friday, 7AM to 3/4PM (one day a week 6AM start) serving breakfast and lunch. If you love to create menus, and cook with seasonal green market ingredients while still maintaining a great work/life balance join our team! We are looking for hard working, positive, team players and creative chefs to join our unique and special kitchen. Must work with a sense of urgency and maintain an impeccably clean and organized work station. Duties also include occasionalcatered events. Cooksmust have the flexibility to do any other tasks which may be necessary but are not specifically mentioned in this job description. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Experience with high volume cooking Computer Proficient including Google Sheets Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Optimistic and detail oreineted team player Customer Service Skills Ability to follow directions, and act with a sense of urgency Ability to lift 50+lb everyday Must have a Food Handler’s License issued by the State or City of New York QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED College Degree with at least a BA or BS degree preferred Culinary School/Degree preferred Experience working with children
